You can access your member IDs in Healthee by navigating to Profile
> Insurance Cards
. Here, you will be able to view all the details of your member ID cards, which you are enrolled in for medical, dental, and vision benefits. If you are not seeing your member IDs, it is because we have not yet received this information.
If this information is missing, you can still easily access all your member IDs in one secure spot by adding them directly to Healthee. To add them to Healthee, go to Profile
> Insurance Cards
> Edit details
. It will prompt you to provide any information we may be missing for the three fields below:
Member ID
If your Member ID is your Social Security Number, select "My member ID is my Social Security number," and then enter your SSN in the Member ID field. Note: This will be masked and secure to protect your information.
Date of Birth
Group Number
Once your information is submitted, select 'Update info'. Your information will now be saved, and you can view it within the app whenever you need to.
Where can I find my Member ID information if I don't know it?
While we receive some member IDs during the onboarding and renewal process, if you are not seeing a Member ID in the Insurance Cards section of Healthee, it is because we have not yet received this information. You can find your Member ID at one of the options below:
Member ID Card
This can be on the front or back of your physical or digital ID card, labeled as Member ID, ID, or Subscriber ID. If your carrier sends out a physical ID card, you should usually receive it 2-4 weeks after enrolling in the plan.
Insurance Carrier Portal
To access this information, you will have to log in to your insurer's website, and it is usually shown on the home screen or under plan details.
If you need help finding your insurer's website, you can reach out to Healthee Support.
Insurance Carrier Member Support
You can contact your insurance carrier's member support by phone or email, and they should be able to look it up using your name, date of birth, and possibly SSN (last 4)
If you need help finding your insurer's member support number, you can reach out to Healthee Support.
Some member IDs may include a pre-fix so please be sure to include that, if necessary.
Dependent Member ID Information
A dependent member ID is the unique identifier assigned to each person covered under a health insurance plan other than the primary subscriber (spouse, child, etc.). So even though everyone is on the same policy, each covered person may have their own member ID, so claims can be routed correctly.
Some insurers may have the same member ID for the entire family, and will use your name and date of birth to differentiate people. While most insurers will structure IDs like below, where the base portion of the ID is the same for everyone on the plan, but the suffix may be used to differentiate each individual.
Subscriber (employee):
ABC123456-01Spouse:
ABC123456-02Child 1:
ABC123456-03Child 2:
ABC123456-04
You can find the dependents' Member ID information similarly to the subscribers at one of the options below:
Member ID Card
Many carriers issue separate cards for each dependent, so they can be located on their specific card.
If separate cards were not provided for dependents, it may be listed on the subscriber's card with multiple names listed.
Insurance Carrier Portal
To access this information, you will have to log in to your insurer's website, and you can use a dropdown to switch to the covered members view.
Some carriers may require the dependent to log in and access this information themselves.
What is your member ID used for, and why does it need to be correct?
Your member ID is unique to you, and it's how your insurance company knows who you are in their system. It’s used every time:
A doctor’s office submits a claim
A pharmacy fills a prescription
A lab runs tests
A hospital bills your insurance
Customer support looks up your coverage
and more!
If your member ID is incorrect, it will prevent systems and carriers from matching you to the right insurance information. This can have some downstream impacts, such as:
Delayed or denied claims
Incorrectly applied benefits and coverage
Dependent confusion
among others
If you have any additional questions on Member IDs that weren't covered, please reach out to the Healthee Support Team.
